The Evolution of Fuel.
Cerion Energy is building a greener, more efficient future for diesel power.
Cerion Energy, Inc., is based in Rochester, NY, and was founded in February, 2007 by a unique team comprised of veteran entrepreneurs
as well as experienced scientists and researchers with ties to Eastman Kodak and the internationally renowned Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Cerion’s core competence is the consistent production of small
(1-20 nm), monodisperse, functionalized nanoparticles at very low cost and in high yield.
Cerion’s goal is to become the leading developer and supplier of the most technologically advanced nanoparticle combustion catalyst in the world. Cerion’s patented product, called GO2, simultaneously increases combustion efficiency (i.e. MPG), while decreasing unwanted and harmful exhaust emissions.
Cerion has developed relationships with The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Cornell University, Alfred University and Eastman Kodak, and is leveraging these alliances by utilizing their expertise in the creation and volume production of novel compositions of matter using low cost, versatile, aqueous precipitation technology.
Cerion’s two and one-half nanometer (2.5 nm), doped, metal oxide (CeO2) nanoparticles stabilized with proprietary adsorbates, provide the basis of Cerion’s patent portfolio (8 PCT applications plus 8 in draft).
GO2 has scientifically proven to achieve 7-10% improvement in fuel efficiency while providing a reduction of up to 30% in particulate emissions and 7-10% in greenhouse gas emissions.
Cerion Energy's nanoparticles are the world’s smallest and most reactive nanoparticle combustion catalysts. Working in the combustion chamber they redistribute oxygen more uniformly over the chamber volume whixh results in a more complete and efficient burn. This helps lower fuel consumption while also reducing harmful diesel particulate emissions (soot).

What Customers are Saying

Over the past 18 months, Cerion has tested GO2, its nanoparticle combustion catalyst, in a variety of on-road and marine vehicles all over the world. The results are in and the news is exciting: "The Cerion team implemented an effective testing program for our boat captains to complete. After the test it was determined that our fuel usage was down 9% as a result of using the GO2 product. We'll definitely be using the product in the future in all of our work boats."
